Monday 5/15
Today's surgery went well. Molly is still in stable condition and her doctors are pleased.

The previous posting gave a phone number for Molly's friends to call. We have had to remove the phone number because of unwanted and cruel calls. We regret that this has happened and ask for your compassion for a gravely injured girl and consideration for her family.

Molly-
I saw your picture in the yearbook with Taylor (from Arizona), and I couldn't help but laugh from thinking about how quirky and lighthearted you guys were together. You were always friendly to me, and you took time out of your life to get to know me a little, and I'll never forget that. I'm sure you'll make the best out of whatever comes at you, because that's just who you are.

My Dear Molly and Her Family,

I dont know you but I would like to express my deep hurt and concern for what you have been through. I know this will be hard for you to understand right now but please dont dwell on it and let it break your spirit. Think of the positive and just how lucky you were that night for things to not have been worse. God Bless you and remember you are meant to accomplish great things in life, please do them

Does anything in nature despair except man? An animal with a foot caught in a trap does not seem to despair. It is too busy trying to survive. It is all closed in, to a kind of still, intense waiting. Is this a key? Keep busy with survival. Imitate the trees. Learn to lose in order to recover, and remember that nothing stays the same for long, not even pain, psychic pain. Sit it out. Let it all pass. Let it go.

Molly,

This is a tough time in your life, but choose to live!

Our family went through a terrible ordeal about 7 years ago that resulted in the loss of my husband's leg below the knee. We had a small baby. He chose to live the fullest life possible and his attitude has made such a difference for all of us.

You will have a lot of experiences ahead of you, some of them very tough. Just remember that if you chose to let it, life can be wonderful! Just remind yourself that it could've been worse.

You and your family will make it.

I don't know you Molly but my daughter is also a senior at East. You have been in my prayers since the night of the prom. God never gives you more than you can handle and I know with the support of your family and friends you will get thru this. I believe the next time we hear your name it will be to announce all the wonderful accomplishments you have gone on to achieve. I am so proud of all the East High family for their support of you and your family during this time. Get well soon.

A suggestion to someone close to the family:

This past summer I did a website for a family who lost some family members in a car accident and the injured went through months of hospitalization and recovery. Through the website all hospital visits and meals were arranged and messages of love and encouragement were relayed to the family. Because the family was always at the hospital, lunches and dinners were taken to them each day for about two months. This means the family only needs to communicate with one person, the one doing the website.

I went to East High School long ago, had a date to the prom, and remember those days well. When I read about your accident I just started to cry; you will never know how many people in Denver, all over the country, have heard about you, and care very deeply about you getting well. Do what the Doctors' tell you do do, and get up to CU, you will have a terrific time, and get a great education to boot.
My the angels watch over you little Molly.
Your friend,

As a parent, a sister and a daughter, I can't begin to imagine what the past several days have been like for each of you. This is a parent’s worst nightmare, a child’s worst fear and a sister’s biggest heartache. However, without knowing any of you I can only imagine the joy and strength you bring each other. You all sound like incredible people. Its strength, courage and the faith you have in each other that will get you through this. Molly sounds like an incredible young lady, which is the greatest compliment tot he parents. As an East High graduate with a daughter just finishing her freshman year, this has hit us hard. I truly wish you all the courage and strength to get through this. What an awesome time to be surrounded by Angels.

There is much power in that! God bless you, Molly, and may unforeseen as yet but wonderful times be in your future.
