To those of you out there who are offering to help with the house, thank you so much. I will contact you soon when things get a little better organized. My sister is right about the extreme makeover. We don't need anything extreme. We have an adequate, humble little house in a quiet neighborhood and we do love our home. Our retrofit won't be that extensive, but we will be looking for help. Unless somebody knows how to put in an elevator to the basement??? Just a thought and a joke.
Molly has been working very hard in therapy and is getting pretty good with her balance. She makes good progress every day, but still has a long way to go. We had a little set back with her wound today, but is won't stop the progress, just slow it a little. She has the spirit and drive of a pioneer woman who traveled across country in a covered wagon to live in the God forsaken prairie and survive! Maybe she already did that in a former life and she just knows what it takes to keep going. I learn something new from her every day.
To all of Molly's friends, thank you for hanging in there and coming so often to see her. You don't know how much it helps her spirits. To the families who have been taking such good care of the rest of us by being there and feeding us, God Bless you all!
To Katy and Molly, have fun girls. May the angels watch over while you sleep. Love you!

Hi,

I'd like an elevator to go from my basement and I don't even have a very good reason ...

I also want a conveyer belt going from my garage to my kitchen to move groceries in easily.

With love,

Molly,
Everyday I read the blog your mother so deligently writes. I so admire your strength and fortitude. I know you will overcome the obstacles which are put before you. Some days will be harder than others, but YOU WILL PERSEVERE.

Bernie and Bob,
We will be out of town from Aug 14th-Aug 21st. I will be available to help after that. Call any time and let me know what I can do.
I hope today is a good day for all of you.

Bernie, the elevator to the basement can be accomplished quite easily if your stairs go straight down. I was able to get a lift installed for my elderly dad in a house that's in your neighborhood and might be similarly designed. A track is anchored to the stairs, with a rail that holds a chair; it operates on your normal household current and has hand controls for starting, stopping and swiveling. It's reasonably priced and doesn't require any elaborate installation.

Hi,
I don't have any building skills or connections, but would love to help with labor...either physical or phone calls or ???. I know your family has plenty of unskilled helpers, but please know another one is available. You're an amazing family and an inspiration. Thank you for the daily updates. Of course, my prayers are with you all.

Thank you for the updates on Molly. Everytime there is a setback, I say an extra prayer for her and your family.
I wish I lived closer, I'd be there in a heartbeat to help with any renovations.
Keep taking one day at a time.
God Bless

Hey! So glad to hear that everyone is still going forward. My son had aset back too...but because of you and yours we are flying right through it! You have no idea the strength your blog gives to all of us.It could be better but it can always be worse too! You mention all that you learn from your children...HOLY COW! I have to pinch myself at times to see if I am dreaming...they are so amazing and guess where that comes from? The fruit don't fall far from the tree! My son was always in sports(T-ball at age 4) His no pain no gain attitude really carries him through alot of terrible things. Molly will never give up...it is the competitive thing that sports teaches them. Now that being a star athlete is no longer in his future...(though he did try) he has taken all that drive to get better, and has put that towards acedemics...Thank God he was always very bright too! He is packing to go to pre-med school in the next couple weeks. Three years ago we didn't think we would have him...We really learned to live one moment at a time...with no control...WEW that was a hard adjustment for a family of control freaksLOL! Here we are three and a half years later...still hitting some bumps and still dealing with the fact that this is his life now! Still saddened at times of all that was taken from him...but oh my when I look at all that was given...When one door is closed so many more will open...hard to believe right now...but I promise "IT WILL GET BETTER!" Would I do anything to go back before this...???I just know what is...is and for us, taking what we have and doing our best is all that we can do! You are all extraordinary now and when you think you have had enough...which will be often...BELIEVE! My love and prayers as always!!! Alleghany Mt. MOM Wish I were there to hold you all! Stand Firm

It sounds as if progress is sometimes two steps forward and one back, but it's still progress in the forward direction. You know we are all pulling for you!

It is Sat.6 am and as I get ready for my fun filled day...I remember you and your trials and though I can't exactly know what you are all going through I can remember not so long ago when I sat in a hospitol day after day while everyone else went on with their lives. I want you to know that when I sat there I felt guilty for being glad when it rained because at least we weren't missing any fun or so it seemed. It made our days not so long. I remember dreading the week-ends because it meant two things...we had a skeleton crew and no progress seemed to take place and it meant we would have x-tra company that would be so loving and caring but it also meant I had to put a smile on my face and try to make others believe we were ok.So as I get ready to go spend a day at the beach with another family that has the same disease we are dealing with...I ask God to lift you up and hold you tight! I ask that you have a great day considering all that you are enduring! I ask that you have loving, caring company that you can fall apart in front of if you need to! I ask that your pain med. works and that your heart is filled with warmth and fuzziness! I thank God for all of you and all that you do without even knowing it! Because of you and this blog I am reminded of how blessed I am and that though things aren't perfect in my world...LIFE AIN'T ALWAYS BEAUTIFUL...BUT IT'S A BEAUTIFUL LIFE!When my storm was it wickedest I made it through and so will you! Love and prayers...Allegheny Mountains mom

Hey. I've been out of town for a while, and not able to get on a computer. I've been catching up, and if you see this, I'd love to help with the housework if you want it.

kaeru_ami@yahoo.com OR 720.214.5648

Call me or email me anytime. Molly was always so fun to be with at school, and I'd love to be able to do more to help her and her family out.^^ We'll make sure the GSA stays alive, even though she's graduated.

Now that I'm back in town and I know where she is((Because I didn't know for he first few weeks)) I'm still getting used to learning placesi n Denver...I want to come visit, hehe.
