One week ago Molly had probably one of the best days ever. She spent the day with her friends having her nails done, getting her "do", shopping for her accessories, getting ready for the Senior Prom. She asked me to shop with her and help her with her makeup. She insisted we come to the barbeque that the kids were having and all the other parents were coming to. Before she left to meet the limo, she ran back and hugged me, kissed me and said "Love ya, mom!" and went flying off to catch up with her friends. The kids told me she danced all night. It was one of my best days with her as well.
All day long I have been thinking about all the other parents who have been in similar situations. I would hear the stories on the news and my heart would break for them. I would try to imagine how I would feel in their shoes. I never really came close. I am beginning to understand how people with devastating tragedies find that inner strength to overcome such situations. We are learning. We couldn't have come this far without all of the support we have received from our families, friends, doctors, nurses, and strangers. Just a "thank you" to the Shriner in Longmont who called to offer help, the man who came to the hospital with names and numbers of support groups, the teacher who called to share her experience with me and wants to help Molly adjust.
We can't express our gratitude enough to everyone who has been there in person, in the mail, on the phone, and on this site.
Congratulations East Class of 2006! Reach for the stars and don't let go.

Molly & Family,
Thanks for sharing that story of one of Molly's best days ever. We just wanted to pass on all the encouragement from people at the car wash fundraiser. The tremendous support for Molly was unbelievable, more people than we ever imagined. It was very evident that she has touched the lives of so many people, friends and strangers. We just want you to know, you are in our hearts, and loved by many. It was a great day, and a remarkable young lady like you brought us all together.

I have a son the same age as you and your dad and I used to compare notes about you two. While we never met you, I have enjoyed hearing about your successes, with more to come!

My daughter and I stopped by the car wash today to drop off some cookies we baked for the volunteers and we were amazed at how many people were there washing cars, grilling hot dogs, standing with signs. The sun was shining and the day was glorious, all in the name of Molly Bloom. We have all come to love you and it seems limitless, the good intentions of all these people.

Dear Molly and family,
Molly, a whole long week has passed since we saw you all off last Saturday night for prom. What a happy group of kids- and parents who felt fortunate to share in the pre-prom festivity with our children.
As it is with your countless friends, both near and afar, you have been foremost in our thoughts each and every day this past week. We eagerly await to read good news with each day's family post and appreciate the time taken to share the heartwarming stories along with Molly's continued upward progress.
Tomorrow at graduation, Molly's spirit will be most present amongst us all. From there on, we will be seeing steady improvement as Molly's strength is regained. You all remain always in our thoughts and prayers. We send our love.
The Rountree Family.

Dear Miss Molly,
Even when I talk to the young lady you've grown into, I see that cute little girl with all the wild curls. This past week even this iconclast has been willingly praying for your recovery. How could I do anything else? There are so many people that love you. Please don't lose touch with that stubborn streak of yours--it will pull you through today, tommorow and the rest of your life. I love you.

We are amongst the many EHS fammilies who sent messages earlier this past week to Molly and her family sending our thoughts, support, and prayers. Only today did we find out that a young lady we have had the pleasure of knowing as one of my niece's best friends over the past 7 plus years, Katie, is Molly's sister. Katie, I'm Jenny Hampel Roth's, 'Aunt Sandie' (Sheri's sister). Greg and Rachel join me in sending our love and
every positive thought to you and your family Rachel was at the car wash yesterday helping out and is finishing her sophomore year at East. She remembers how nice you were to her last summer as a fellow bridesmaid at Jen and Justin's wedding. Knowing Katie makes the impact of what happened to Molly no greater to us than it was last weekend but only serves to remind us of how truly connected we sometimes are in this world.

All our love,

Greg, Sandie, and Rachel Banks

My mom teaches at Regis girls high school and she has a student that has gone through a similar trauma. Her name is Lacey and she lost her leg while fighting cancer. She is now a junior at Regis and is an inspiration to all. She helps people who are going through experiences like Molly. Lacey Henderson's email is : Laceyisyourfriend@gmail.com. My whole family thinks of Molly and her family every day. I know Molly will get through this. I was on swimteam with her and admired her strength and beauty. We all admire her, and are with you guys in spirit every day. God bless.

Molly and family,
I teach fifth grade at a Catholic school in California. Almost daily we pray for those who need special attention. We would be more than happy to include Molly in the next several days as we pray together. Our pastor explained to us that children's prayers are the most powerful prayers and I believe this is true. When my sister was gravely ill in February we prayed together in Church while I sobbed in fear. She made a remarkable recovery and we thank all of the care givers who looked after her and still monitor her progress. Have faith that there are people who care and people who will pray for Molly in the weeks and months to come.
