Sunday May 21, 2006

Molly's cap, gown, and tassle hung in her hospital room today as her class held its graduation ceremonies. We had our own quiet ceremony and wished we could have been there because we are so extremely proud of all that our Angel Molly has accomplished, not only in these last 8 days, but in all the days that have led up to this. Molly has always been an "A" student who was and is well liked by her teachers for her beautiful spirit, strong sense of individuality, and crazy sense of humor.
Molly rested today after a hard day yesterday. She is still stable, and that's a good day.
So many people have asked how they can help us, so, it is with reluctance that we address this subject, but the friends who established this fund want us to post the address. The fund was set up to help pay for Molly's recovery expenses. This is going to be a very long and extensive process due to the nature of her wound.

1600 Broadway
Denver, CO 80202

Once again, thanks to all the people who have held us up and kept us going. We would never have made it this far without you.

Good night, Molly. Sweet dreams. We love you.

even though you ride to school on a broom and eat hot dogs with spoons, you would still have to be one of my favorite people ever. i came to visit you a couple days ago, and i saw your prom picture. i really think it was the best picture i've ever seen of you--you looked amazing. you have so many people pulling for you molly, you have to stay strong and remember that there so many people who love you. get better super soon, because i have no one to belly dance with until you get better. (katie isn't very good). you rock like sidewalk chalk :)

Molly Bloom,
Congratulations on your Graduation. I love you so much and I will miss kissing you and talking to you when I go back home tomorrow. Please know I will be back as soon as the time is right. And my heart remains with you every second of each day. I asked your mom for one of your tee shirts to sleep in. The one I took from Grandma that Katy gave her is getting pretty ratty. And with my new sleep shirt you'll be with me all the time. Keep fighting because you are without a doubt the strongest person I have ever known.
I love you and I will miss you.

Mollis,

Happy Graduation!!! I'm so glad we spent the first two years of high school together. You taught me how to be strong, how to joke around, how to smile, and much more. I know you will continue to be the same strong, motivated, and wonderful girl you were when we first met four years ago and I know you are ready for the next chapter in your life. Everyone is very proud of you today-first off for earning your diploma, and second for fighting as hard as you've fought these past eight days. Make sure to dress up in your cap and gown as soon as you can! Today is your day. I love you.

Dinis

Bernie and Bob-
Thank you for constantly being there for Molly. She loves you very much and has always said how much you mean to her. I know today was an important day for her and your whole family and that both of you helped her achieve such greatness.

THE GOODTIMBER

The tree that never had to fight
For sun and sky and air and light,
But stood out in the open plain
And always got its share of rain,
Never became a forest king
But lived and died a scrubby thing.

The man who never had to toil
To gain and farm his patch of soil,
Who never had to win his share
Of sun and sky and light and air,
Never became a manly man
But lived and died as he began.

Good timber does not grow with ease,
The stronger wind, the stronger trees,
The further sky, the greater length,
The more the storm, the more the strength.
By sun and cold, by rain and snow,
In trees and men good timbers grow.

Where thickest lies the forest growth
We find the patriarchs of both.
And they hold counsel with the stars
Whose broken branches show the scars
Of many winds and much of strife.
This is the common law of life.

Continue to be positive and strong.

Dearest Molly and family,
you have so many dear friends who love and care for you, they are calling everyone they know asking for the only thing they can offer, their prayers. We do not know you and we are so far away but our hearts are broken open and pouring out our love to you this day. We are praying for you Molly and for all of your family that the Angels of the Lord will carry you today and in the days ahead, that the Lord will give you His strength and the Holy Spirit will breathe life into each cell of your bodies and fill them with God's grace and that you will heal and grow in life living to all you have been created to be. Growing in the love of those who hold you all so dear. We are your friends in Christ, called to be there for you by your close friends. Holy Family Prayer Line Pray-ers, San Jose CA

Molly,
We love you so much. I don't know what more to tell you. With every passing moment, we are thinking of you and missing you and waiting for you to wake up so we can sing Fiddler on the Roof songs and selections from Les Mis! You have an amazing spirit Molly. You've always been such a joy to be around. I hope you know that. The times I've spent with you have always been full of laughter and joy and the most care-free happiness I may have ever experienced. And most, if not all, of that laughter was a result of your random comments and perfectly timed jokes. I only hope that when it's my turn, I can comfort you and give you things to smile about. It's not going to be easy, but I know that with all the people that love you, you will find your way and continue to bring joy to everyone whose lives you touch. Don't be afraid to ask for help, we are all here to hold you up and help you recover. And we will be your strength when you don't think you have enough to go on. Please don't ever forget that. I know Alex and Tara will be able to visit you a whole bunch soon, and I'm going to try to leave work early as much as possible, so far it's been a little difficult, but you have so much love around you there and I'm with you in spirit every second. I hope you are getting plenty of rest and building your strength. There's still much ahead of you, but you will persevere and continue to blossom as one of the brightest, loveliest, most adorable Blooms I know. :)
Bob and Bernie,
You too are in my thoughts along with your eldest daughter. I can't believe the amount of strength you all have shown and continue to show throughout this ordeal. I am truly touched by the breadth and depth of your courage. Molly is a very lucky girl to have such an awesome family, capable of so much dedication and hope. I hope that you all know what a shining example of love you all are. Please, please, please, call us if you need anything, even just a walk to 7-Eleven for smokes or some bagels. :) I'm going to make a flyer for Molly's fund and have my parents post it at their jobs (hey Bob, my dad works at the post office too!) to get the word out. Our numbers are 303-882-0306 and 303-628-5669. We love you guys.

I feel like I know you and your family very well...I am Robin Secher's cousin from Pittsburgh and we are very close. She has always spoken about you both and your children with a sparkle in her eye. I am truly sorry for what has happened to Molly and can't even imagine the pain you all must be feeling. I have 2 sons, Daniel (13) and Dylan (3 1/2), so, as a parent, my heart hurts for all of you. Please know that I say a prayer every day for Molly's recovery and your internal sustenance. Keep the faith.

Hi Molly,
I couldn't wait to read the posts by your lovely and stoic parents today and am pleased to know that you are being so well cared for!

We watched our son graduate yesterday and we cheered our hearts out for him and for you!
When the audience stood and cheered, something initiated by your class, I think for a minute I saw a halo above your picture!! ;o)
I hope that you, dear little angel, know how loved you are!
Stay strong and believe in yourself!

Molly's parents - I hope you're doing alright, although I can't even begin to imagine what you're going through, but make sure to ask those that you can ask for the help you need to stay strong for Molly!

Please give Molly's hand a gentle squeeze for me!

Much love and admiration!

Molly,
Although we didnt know each other all that well, I have still thought about you every day this past week, and sometimes cry when I talk about you. I had a dream about you the other night. You were up and well and perfectly healthy, and you were bouncing around and very happy. You were beautiful and perfect. I know that was not just a silly a dream, and I know deep inside myself that you are going to come out of this just as strong and beautiful and you have always been. I am sure of it. I love you and I will see you soon!
Love,

Molly,

I have never met you, but as a parent of a daughter who went to the prom and who just graduated from East High, I am thinking of you constantly. You have tremendous support from your family and friends and the community. It was so impressive at the graduation ceremony when the whole audience rose and applauded you. Your inner strength and the support you receive will take you far in life.

My best wishes to you and your family,
