For Molly's friends, she has her voice! She has learned to talk with the device on her trach tube and she is so thrilled. She is weak, but eager to see people. She will be in surgery again late this afternoon, so she will be out of touch tonight. Visiting hours are 9 - 9 at the hospital, but we are asking that 7:00 pm be the lastest to visit. We are all exhausted by then.
For the media, once again, we ask that you respect our privacy. We are just ordinary parents who must deal with an extraordinary situation. We aren't the first and we won't be the last. All of our energy right now is devoted to making sure that Molly is safe and well. We don't know what her prognosis is, and the doctors aren't making any promises. Everyday, she deals with life threatening infections. We are hoping that she won't spend the rest of her life in a hospital bed.
To everyone at Denver Health, we are so grateful for saving Molly's life. Everything about her treatment and care there was beyond reproach and amazingly stellar. The doctors, nurses, and support staff treated us all with the utmost dignity and respect, and for that we are thankful. We appreciate the way in which you facilitated her move to Presbyterian/St. Lukes. We miss all of you and we love you to pieces. Molly says "Hi!".

Dear Miss Molly,

I can't believe that on Saturday you barely croaked out Hi, and today you're singing Spice Girls and show tunes. How wonderful to be able to hear your velvet voice again. Rest, sweet Molly. I'll get Gran to see you very soon.

So great to hear that Molly is talking. I think this is a good sign. She has a strong will, which will continue to carry her along.

The move is over. This is good. As always you are in our hearts and prayers.

Hello Bob, Bernie, Katy and Molly, What good news it is to hear that Molly can talk. It must be wonderful to hear her speak again. I continue to pray for you all. Your whole family is such an inspiration.
Speaking of families let me tell you of a fishing story with mine last weekend. We rented a boat and went out fishing last Saturday. We found a spot that was really hot. We were catching one right after another. After we all caught our limits I told my oldest boy to mark the spot, and we'll come back Sunday. When we got back to shore we were unloading all our gear and the fish, I asked my oldest if he marked the spot. He told me he did. He put a big X on the bottom of the boat. I couldn't believe it. He marked the spot by putting a X on the bottom of the boat. I said, "you idiot, what if we don't get the same boat." Stay strong and stay cool. Denver Bob

I am still wondering about the details for the swim-a-thon for Molly. Is there someplace I could call or go to on the web for more details? I would love to do it, but I am a mom and need to arrange a babysitter ahead of time. If anyone knows the details, please post.

Bob and Bernie,
You both continually amaze me. You are beautiful people and have a beautiful respect for each other.

Sweet Molly, more shoulder rubs are forthcoming.
Your voice sounds terrific and strong which reflects on your inner strength. I pray that surgery went well.

Rest well B & B, I'm planning on Friday night!
love, Debbie

Hi Molly,
I hear you are being treated like a queen. AND you can talk! Yeah!!!!!!

How was the bath & the back rub? Michael still has a couple hundred massages he has to do before he gets his license. Maybe he can check some of those off with you! Soon you will be up and moving around, then home sweet home.

Dean still wants you to know he hopes you feel better and he says he misses you.

Have a great day and continue to amaze all of us with your impressive strength to heal!

Love Ya,
Sarah

Hi Molly and family-
Alia and I are thrilled that you are enjoying Marley and Me, the world's worst dog. I laughed and cried through the whole thing, and I thought the catharsis would be helpful. Please, let me know when you finish the book, because I will make sure Molly has a steady flow of books to lift her spirits. Molly, hang in there!! hugs, Ms. Abu
