the energy/healing shift this week has been tremendous. i just can't help but believe that the swim-a-thon did so much more than raise money. we have all created a vortex of love with the blooms in the center.
molly, your courage and determination is awesome. bernie, thanks for writing your truth every day. bob, happy so happy father's day! katy, you are an angel too!
I put some of the photos I took at the swim-a-thon online. You can find them here: http://blog.myspace.com/40713187 It was really nice seeing you guys, and Molly especially today, even if it was brief. Katie and I are starting cutting and editing for the movie tomorrow. Sleep well, and stay strong. -Leah
Thank you, Bloom family, for allowing the car wash, recovery fund, swim-a-thon, etc. Bernie, you were wise to worry about the emotional state of Molly's peers, and the swim-a-thon was the most joyous celebration of love that I have ever seen. It seemed to make them feel helpful instead of helpless. I went across town yesterday to wish my 80 year old dad a happy Father's Day. Instead of buying my dad another shirt, my mother was sending a donation to the recovery fund in his honor. Wow!
Molly, Glad to hear you are still all there mentally. Keep your mind strong, because that will be your most useful tool in life; with or without both legs.
Don't be afraid to talk to your parents and tell them how you really feel. At this point, you won't hurt their feelings. If they cry, know that it is tears of joy because they know you trust them and love them. Don't hold anything back with them. They NEED you to tell them how you feel. They sit on the edge of their seats waiting for you to speak your mind. sHOUT IT! Because they love you!!
Glad I got to see you, you look 1,000 times better than the last time I saw you. Makes me smile :-)

Dear Molly, You have been in my thoughts and prayers on a daily basis since I heard the news of your accident, you are a beautiful girl and a wonderful person, two traits that I immediately realised upon meeting you during your freshamn year at East in Mr. Macmillan's class, 2002-3, we hit it off immediately as we were seated together alphabetically, Ballas -- Bloom-- etc... we shared certain raport with our senses of humor and remained freinds throughout the next year being lucky enough to share Mrs. Anderson's Spanish course as wll as Mr. Harbaugh's photography couse. For an older student participating in these entry level courses, you were a beacon of maturity and seriouseness devoid in some of our classmates, and it was your company in these classrooms that I truly enjoyed. I regret very much in this last year not being able to see you, as you will see in the coming months if you go to college, that is little time during the week, and especially during to weekends to allow for extra activities, I hope you understand. I hope you are planning to still attend CU Boulder, I look forward to seeing again in the future, hopefully at CU... We will be in contact throughout the summer as I am sure you are overwelmed with visitations from friends and family, God Bless You love, -Constantine "Charlie" Ballas
Dear Molly, I start and end everyday with a prayer for you and your family. You have come such a long way, and with the hopes and prayers of so many friends and strangers, I see only great things for your future. Due to the large number of angels, literally and figuratively, that have rushed to be with you, I have heard that it is standing room only in your room. I am sending a few extra angels your way to give you and your family a bit more strength. You are a wonder.
Hello Molly, I heard of your story via Jessica Biel on Regis & Kelly this morning, probably a rerun. I got the partial story off the Rocky Mt. news. If you are interested in communicating and telling me more of your story I would appreciate that. I am an amputee also (21 years out), mom of 2 grown sons and still a little involved in a foundation here in Duluth, MN called High Exposure. The grants are limited to $2000 per person but we have, in my opinion, the best prosthetic guy in the world who has helped 4 individuals from all over the world. HiEx has helped them along with other sponsors. If you would like to chat or fill out a form to get funding from HiEx please drop me a note to HighExposure4Ed@aol.com Sincerely, Ms Brandy M.

Happy father's day, Bob! You have approached this tragedy with love, strength, and a sense of humor that would make any daughter lucky to have you.
