Molly was transferred from Pres./St. Lukes to the rehab center at Children's Hospital today. This is the 3rd move since the incident which cost her leg and pelvis. This was the least traumatic move so far. Her recovery has been phenomenal. We never expected her to move this fast. We know that this will be the hardest phase of all so far. She seems ready to tackle the challenges that await her. She constantly amazes me with her courage and strength. Maybe it has been all the prayers, good vibes, physical support from friends and family, divine intervention, or just her will to survive. Maybe it's all of these things combined. For Bob, Katy, and me, it has been all of these, that we know.
The move to Children's feels good. The staff made us all feel very comfortable immediately. Molly seems to be right at home here. Her spirits are good.
We want to thank everyone at Presbyterian/St. Lukes for the outstanding care and treatment that Molly received there. They did an excellent job of getting her healed and ready for this next step. We are indebted to so many people in the health care industry, from Denver Health, to PSL, to Children's. We are also so grateful to everyone who has given their time, effort, love and money to help with Molly's recovery. THIS CITY ROCKS!!
Good night my sweet girls. Here are one hundred kisses to put you to sleep. Love you.

I just read 3/4 of this entire blog and am amazed at this whole story. Thank you for keeping it so updated! That's a lot of work.

Anyway, I'm sorry to hear of such a horrific tragedy in your family but wow, that Molly! She's a fighter! What a role model. Her recovery seems to be going very quickly and I'm sure she will eventually be fitted for a prosthetic (sp?), right? If so, I'm SURE she'll be able to do everything she could before. Yes, it will take time but look at HOW many people are rooting for her. It's incredible to see. The love your family shares is truely amazing. God bless you all.

Hi.....just saw 7News update on you all. It was a great segment.
So glad you are on to the next phase.

Take care. Cindy said she had come last week to see ya. Maybe one day when we are down that way we can come in and say "HI". Hopefully you will be home by then.

Bernie,
I think that she has done so well for at least one more reason than you mention....it's because of her Mother. Having the kind of love that a mother can give is simply priceless and when a mom can make her daughter not feel fear because she refuses to feel the feel herself...that is simply amazing.
I am so proud of you all and simply awestruck by your resiliency and your class!
Give her a gentle hug for me!
All the love in the world!

Hello Bob, Bernie, Katy, and Molly, The good news just keeps on coming. This is one tough girl. I'm sure she will do very well in re-hab. There is nothing she can't handle. God Blees you Molly, you are an inspiration!!!!!!!
I went to a Burger King yesterday and the bill was $5.10. I gave the girl $10.10, and she had no clue what to do. This is why we need to teach math like the old day's. Here is how it went:

Teaching math in 1960, A logger sells a truckload of lumber for $100. His cost of production is 4/5 of the price. What is his profit?

Teaching math in 1970, A logger sells a truckload of lumber for $100. His cost of production is 4/5 the price or $80. What is his profit?

Teaching math in 1980, A logger sells a truckload of lumber for $100. His cost of production is $80. Did he make a profit?

Teaching math in 1990, A logger sells a truckload of lumber for $100. His cost of production is $80. and he made a profit of $20. Your assignment: underline the number 20.

Teaching math in 2000, A logger cuts down a beautiful forest because he is selfish and cares nothing for the animals who live there. He does all this for a profit of $20. Your assignment: get in small groups and discuss how this must make the birds and squirrels feel.

Teaching math in 2010, Un hachero vende una carretada de maderapara $100. El costo de la producciones es $80.

Stay strong and stay cool, Denver Bob

To Molly's Mom:

I have been following this story since the beginning, and this is the first time I have written.

This note is for you. YOU are truly a pillar of strength and a role model for all of us moms out here. You write about how you are getting on Molly's nerves, but she will always remember and cherish the care and devotion you have shown to her during her rocky recovery. This will come back to you 100-fold when you are in your final days.

You remind me a lot of my mother, who I lost last year. When I suffered a long hospital stay due to a horribly ruptured appendix, she was my constant angel. Following the birth of both of my children, she doted on me and my babies tirelessly. I know she did the same for both of my siblings. When she finally succummed to bone cancer last year, my siblings and I could not do enough for her. We miss her terribly but know she is in heaven smiling down on us.

I know that Molly appreciates all that you do. You are an inspiration to us all and have secured your place in heaven!

Keep the faith.

Just found your blog today. Thanks for writing it!

I have been sending healing and coping thoughts toward Molly and all of you since I saw her story on the news.

And it might sound strange or silly, but I feel extra touched and amazed by her story because I too have a Molly in my life. My Miss Molly, AKA Mollypop, is eight years old and pretty strong willed, too (we like the term "tenacious" *grin*).

The night I saw the news story, I said to my SO through tears, "That man hurt a MOLLY!"

I chuckle about my reaction now, but for some reason, being the mom of a Molly made me feel like I had to send extra energy to your Molly and your family.

Blessings to all of you,
Julia (and Molly and her sister Briar!)
