Thursday, July 6, 2006

Today was a HUGE day for Molly. The physical therapists helped her walk out of her room on a walker and back. Paul Bunyon better run to keep up. She is determined to get going with her life. The PT told Molly that he has had football players who didn't work as hard as she has this week. They should take up swimming, the pansies.
Molly will be at Children's Hosp. on her birthday, so for those who want to send cards, the address is: 1056 East 19th Ave., Denver, CO 80218. We will let you know when she moves and when she can have visitors as soon as we know.
We are hearing about numerous people and businesses that are sponsoring fund raisers for Molly. To everyone, thank you for your help. We want Molly to get back to as normal a life as is possible and this will be very helpful. To my coworkers at Littleton Transportation, thank you for planning Molly's day. On July 14 in the evening, the drivers and support staff is having a bar-b-que fund raiser at the Elks Lodge in downtown Littleton. There will be a band, food, and fun. Thank all of you! Molly says "Hi"!

You are truly amazing, Molly. When I think I am having a bad day at work or home, I just think of you and get inspired! I tell my kids about your progress every day and use you as an example when they are whining that they can't do something.

Dear Blooms,
An allegory: A powerful storm blew through my life and flattened all that I had valued. I was able to rise and look about. Off in the distance there were others less fortunate than I. I struggle to reach them.
An offering: I am a servant to those who ask for a servant. At times I am in search of a master or a teacher or both. You seem to be a truly noble family. If you think you may want or need a servant in the future, leave word that I might give you contact information. I need very little and I want for nothing, therefore I am affordable to all. My talents are many. Many blessings upon you all.

Dear Molly,
I look forward to someday meeting you. You have already given so much to others on the journey. Know this- all that we want or need we already have.
We must only look within. Namaste

I am so happy to know that she is doing so well!! I assume the bbq is open to anyone who wants to go? I would like to go, but I have no idea where that is. So, I was wondering of maybe you could either post the address, or post directions. Molly's birthday is around July 18th, right? I only caught a glimpse at the calender in her room.
Hugs and loves!

Dear Miss Molly,
So, after your birthday next week do I have to start calling you MS? Nah, doesn't work. What a wonderful birthday surprise to get a phone call from you today. You made my heart soar! And your walk to the hallway and back. I'm sorry I missed it, but what I saw you do yesterday, this doesn't surprise me. You know those therapists at Children's are just itching to have you there. See you tomorrow, bright & early, so no heavy partying tonight, young lady. I passed your message to Gran.
love you lots.

Hi,

The newspaper said the careless limo driver has been cited for careless driving. His court date was also shown in the article.

In my opinion, this driver was negligent since he did not close the doors for his passengers verifying they were securely inside the vehicle before driving off...

It seems the article might have said he wasn't properly licensed but I can't recall for sure.

If he wasn't properly licensed, the limo company was also negligent for not requesting a copy of his chauffer's license.

The careless driving citation can carry a jail term of six months and a hefty fine. Guess that will be up to the judge.

Regards,
Leigh

Dear Molly,

This is terrific news, but not surprising. Your spirit all the way through this tough ordeal is one of a person who knows who she is and exactly what she wants. Such an inspiration you are dear Molly and I know you will continue to be an inspiration to others throughout your long, happy, healthly and prosperous life. I wish you all the wonderful birthday blessings on your special day next week!
Mom, Dad and Fabulous Sister - you are ALL part of who Molly is and how she's doing and she is ALL a part of you and how you're doing. Just normal people showing extraordinary care and love to one another. God Bless you all!

Hello Bob, Bernie, Katy, and Molly, What great news. I am just giddy to hear she is ready to move on with her life. I know it will be a long and rewarding life also. God bless you all.
I am so giddy I have a couple of corny ones today.

1) A dyslexic man walks into a bra.

2) A jumper cable walks into a bar and the bartender say's, "I'll serve you, but don't start anything.

3)I went to buy some camouflage pants yesterday, but I didn't see any.

4) What do you call a fish with no eyes? a fsh.

5) I went to the doctor yeterday and said, "Doc, I can't stop singing the green, green, grass of home." He said it was the Tom Jones syndrome. I asked it it was common. He told me it's not unusual.

6) An invisible man marries an invisible woman. The kids weren't anything to look at either.
Stay stron and stay cool,
Denver Bob

Hi Molly,

I just read that you are going to a rehab center and wanted you to know what an inspiration you are to so many people. My husband has been at PSL for the last two weeks and he also had a muscle flap procedure done due to cancer. I've talked to him from the beginning about your story and progress as I follow your web page daily and believe you have inspired him to fight. I've been moved to tears many times reading your Mom's eloquent writing but want you to know that I'm smiling as I post this message knowing that you're moving closer to going home. I believe you are one of strongest people I've ever known of and wish you continued success in your journey.

Hope you enjoy the CCI puppies; if you want to see a Great Big Silly Irish Wolfhound at some point, I've got one who would love to smooch any and all comers.

Congratulations!

You are a wonderful strong person. I'm the mom of two children, 21 & 18. It is hard getting through teen years without your challenges. I had polio at 13mos of age and was only ever able to walk on crutches. I got married and had two beautiful children. Life presents obsticles, but there is ALWAYS a way around them with faith!!!

I am in awe of you and your family. Today was my first visit to your beautiful blog and I am so inspired by all that I have read. The overwhelming sentiment in all your beautiful and honest postings is "hope." I am a mother of 4 beautiful blessings and my heart goes out to your incredibly difficult situation. I can only imagine how it must feel to watch your beautiful girl go through all of this. I know that she will be an inspiration and a beacon of hope to all who hear her story and to those privileged ones who are close to Molly. Each day will be filled with good moments and hard moments. There will be days when you don't think you can take one more step forward or times when you aren't sure if you will ever know what it is to feel happy again, but somehow, someway, you will make it! Molly is so blessed to have such an amazing family. I will be praying for her and for you as you continue to find your way in all of this. When I have been pulled under the waves in great tragedy and struggles, I find the words of Dory from Nemo to be very encouraging.... "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming, just keep swimming, swimming, swimming!" God bless you all!

What fantastic news! Bernie, it was an honor to meet you. Your strength is absolutely inspiring, and it's obvious to me where Molly gets her strength from. I thank you for taking the time to talk to me and my only regret is that I didn't get the chance to meet the famous Molly too! But the Big Apple beckons (as do my non-refundable tickets :) Please give my best wishes to Molly, I promise front row tickets and backstage passes when my play comes to Denver.
