It's amazing. Ask and ye shall receive. Molly has had several good days in a row. No fever, her healing continues, she stood with a walker today. It is painful to watch, but everything physical that she does makes her mind that much clearer and stronger. What a kid!
Tomorrow is the big day. If this flap gets rejected, they will only have one more chance to do this again, so we are praying that nothing goes wrong with this surgery or her recovery. It will be a long one, so visitors are discouraged. She will probably be sedated most of the day. Call Thursday to see how she is feeling about company.
It's hard to believe that just a week ago, the picture remained so bleak and scary. Molly still has so much to go through, but we are elated by how much progress she has made in 8 days. Leah, your pictures are great. Soon, we hope to have a link on this page to all of the video that Molly Hughes did for and about Molly.
We are sending our love to everyone who has supported us throughout this ordeal. How are you kids doing? Anyone need any help? If there is anything we can do, please let us know. My friend is still offering counseling help. If it helps you just to talk to Molly, if you can't come in, call her.

It makes me so happy to hear about Molly's progress!!! I am glad to hear that her inner strength is growing just as much as her physical strength. Molly, it was amazing to see all of the people at the swim-a-thon that came out to support you! There were girls from the East team and some ex-Aquawolves and even some from GW (though East totally kicked their butts, ha ha). There were also people who didn't even know you and decided to get into the pool and swim or practically throw money at those of us working at the table in front. You are so loved, Molly, and I hope that you keep this in the front of your mind. We are all pulling for you and are completely inspired by your courage and strength.

Hi Molly,

This is the first time I have commented but I have been reading the blog everyday. I am a junior at East. While your "incident" is so tragic I believe you, and your family, are handling it amazingly. You are such an inspiration to all of us. You give a whole new meaning to the phrase, "Girl Power." If I was in this situation, I dont know how I would be able to handle all of the challenges that you face on a daily basis. Keep your head up. You have a long road ahead of you but just remember how far you have come.

ALways remember, you have all the East Angels on your side and since we are all awesome you WILL get through this. I just know it for a fact.

Molly,
I'm only a 6th going on 7th grader at my school and let me just say, that night has effected my whole family and lots more everywhere. Not only because it was also my sisters prom that night, but mainly almost all because of that limo driver. I can't even imagine what you're going through. Be strong and I know you'll make it though all of this and thrive and be wonderful in your life time.
with all hope,
Gabrielle

Hello Bob, Bernie, Katy, and Molly, What a special girl that Molly is. As Gomer Pyle used to say, Special, Special, Special. It is so nice to hear things are looking up from last week.
I've been thinking about how my 50th birthday is coming up. I'm feeling old. I thought it was bad when I started thinking of "getting lucky" as finding my car in the parking lot. Now I really feel old. My wife gave up sex for Lent. The problem is, I just found out about it yesterday. Stay strong and stay cool, Denver Bob

Since you have been gone we have missed you and this site has helped us keep up. I am so proud of you Molly and so happy that you finally got to see the tops of some of those promised hills. I hope surgery goes well and that your road to recovery continues to go forward. You are a superstar and an inspiration to all. The steps taken with the walker are amazing. Bob and Bernie I think of you and your struggle daily. Never quit believing that you are incredible parents and part of the reason that Molly has done so very well. Stay strong and keep each other close. I got your t shirt- what a wonderful thing it all was!! Keep the faith and be strong. We will await more success stories and they will come. Thinking of you

Hello. I was thinking that people could wear a ribbon (or tie a ribbon on their car's antenna or whatever) to show support of the Bloom family. Perhaps the ribbon could be in Molly's favorite color. Another idea could be a fundraiser selling the ribbons

Molly: My daughters, Molly and Aimee, and son swim for Ken Caryl in the summer. This weekend is the Invite, and we know that you have been a participant with Virginia Vale in the past. The Lightning are having a special fund raiser on your behalf. We are "selling" Hearts for Molly for folks to write their thoughts and tie to the fence around the pool. We hope the fence is full by the end of the meet on Sat! We are keeping you in our prayers. I am an Infectious Disease Physician and wound Care Specialist so I know what you and your family are have been going through and what you face. Stay strong.

I just noticed that I put anonymous on my blogger. I apologized. My name is Darlene January and I wrote the Prayer and Acrostic Poem with Molly's name on it. I am a National Poet Laureate
through poets.com and also am a co-worker of Molly's. Eventhough I don't know her but I love her the just the same. Reading all the email to her and her family says a lot to me. She is a wonderful teenager. I know that God will put his healing hand on her and heal her afterall she is God's Child. I hope the best for you Molly and your family. You are Blessed.
